samba-VScan biedt on-access scanning van Samba aandelen met ClamAV (clamd en libclamav), F-Secure AV, FRISK F-Prot Daemon, Kaspersky AntiVirus, OpenAntiVirus.org ScannerDaemon, MKS AntiVirus, NAI / McAfee VirusScan, Sophos Sweep (via Sophie), Symantec AntiVirus Engine (via ICAP), en Trend Micro (via Trophie). Het ondersteunt Samba 2.2.x / 3.0.x.
samba-VScan momenteel is gemaakt van tien Samba VFS modules:
VScan-fprotd - voor gebruik met F-Prot Daemon
VScan-ICAP - voor gebruik met een ICAP anti-virus service, momenteel alleen Symantec AntiVirus Engine 4.x ondersteund wordt (dit is alpha code en nog niet voor de productie-omgeving!)
VScan-kavp - voor gebruik met Kaspersky AntiVirus (kavdaemon) via Kaspersky KAV client C bibliotheek. VScan-kavp is een uitgeklede versie van VScan-kavp van Ries van Twisk). Voor de full-featured versie zie http://www.rvt.dds.nl
VScan-mks - voor gebruik met mks32 via mks_vir Daemon
VScan-OAV - voor gebruik met OpenAntiVirus.org ScannerDaemon
VScan-Sophos - voor gebruik met Sophos Sweep via Sophie (http://www.vanja.com/tools)
VScan-trend - voor gebruik met Trend Micro FileScanner / InterScan VirusWall via Trophie (http://www.vanja.com/tools)
VScan-ClamAV - voor gebruik met Clam AntiVirus Daemon (clamd) of libclamav (http://www.clamav.net)
VScan-nai - voor gebruik met NAI / McAfee uvscan
VSAN-fsav - voor gebruik met F-Secure AntiVirus (daemon)
VScan-symantec - voor gebruik met Symantec Anti Virus Engine Opmerking: de VScan-symantec odule zal statisch gelinkt tegen de symantec bibliotheek. Dit lib valt niet onder GPL en de resulterende VScan-symantec VFS module kan de GPL van Samba inbreuk! Vanwege deze reden zal de VScan-symantec module alleen bouwen als --with-symantec vlag wordt gebruikt voor ./configure
