SML / NJ (Standard ML New Jersey) bestaat uit een compiler, compilatie manager en bibliotheken voor Standard ML. Inbegrepen zijn CML (Concurrent ML) en Exene (een toolkit voor X op basis van CML).
De compiler produceert efficiënte code voor de meest populaire architecturen (Intel x86, Sparc, Alpha, Mips, HP-PA, PowerPC) en draait onder Unix, Linux of Windows (95,98, NT).
