Net.Scopa

Net.Scopa is a free and cross-platform graphical software that provides a challenging trick-taking card game, which uses the traditional 40-card Italian ‘Scopa’ deck and requires two players. It is also known as ‘Escoba’ in Spanish.

The game comprises of 6 variations, including Scopa di Quindici, Scopa Scopone Trentino, Scopa d'Assi, Scopa a perdere, Scopa Frac, and Re Bello. In addition, the game comes with 'robots' (AI - Artificial Intelligence) designed to test your gaming skills.

At the moment, the Net.Scopa game is translated into several languages, among which we can mention English, Italian, Spanish, German, Dutch, and French languages. However, French suited cards are optional.

Getting started with Net.Scopa

Installing Net.Scopa is quite easy, as the game is distributed as a native installer for Ubuntu, Debian and their derivatives (see the next section for details on supported Linux distribution). Just download the package, save it on your desktop and double click it.

After installation, which will be carried out by either Ubuntu Software Center or GDebi package installer app, you can launch the game from the main menu of your desktop environment. Net.Scopa will open and you will be able to launch a new game.

Supported only on 32-bit Ubuntu/Debian OSes

Currently, Net.Scopa is only playable on GNU/Linux operating systems that use the 32-bit (x86) instruction set architecture and the DEB package management system. This narrows it down to only Ubuntu- and Debian-based distributions.

Therefore, if your distribution of Linux doesn’t uses the DEB package manager and it runs on 64-bit mode, you won’t be able to install and play this nice game on your computer. Additionally, Net.Scopa is supported on the Microsoft Windows, Android and iOS operating systems.
