StageTitles Help
The Options Window
The Options window is a very important place to configure the way the StageTitles document will be shown in the Projector, how slides will advance, and other special features.
These settings are preserved inside each document. Changes made in this window will be handled immediately (when selecting a checkbox or radio button), after switching to another text box (when entering a value), or when closing the Options window.
It is very important that you know your way around these options to get the desired results in the Projector.
Slide List
Select the number of text lines shown on each row of the slide list.
The next options all concern the Projector.
Autoplay
The Projector slide show can automatically advance to the next slide. You can use timecodes or enter the time to show each slide. For the latter, select if that time is fixed for all slides or variable depending on the text length of each slide. This means that a slide with a lot of text will be shown longer than a slide with a shorter text. This variable time is measured in seconds per 100 characters.
Intraslides
An Intraslide is a special slide without any text, not in the slide list, that can be shown between normal slides. You can set the color of the "empty" Intraslide in 5 ways:
• black
• same as the default background color (slide 0)
• same as the background color of the previous slide
• same as the background color of the next slide
• a custom defined color used for all Intraslides
The Intraslides will be shown for a defined amount of seconds and then switch to the next slide, with the option to do this only when in Autoplay.
In other words: when you select the checkbox "only when in Autoplay", when showing an Intraslide you have to hit the next slide button or key to advance to the next slide.
When unchecking the checkbox the Projector will show the Intraslides for the set amount of time and switch to the next slide.
In Autoplay the Intraslides will always be shown for the set time and switch to the next slide automatically.
Transparent Projector background
The Projector background can be removed completely, so that only the slide text is shown. The desktop or other applications remain visible underneath the text. This setting can be used to display a text overlay on other applications, for example a playing video.
For this to work correctly, selecting the Transparent checkbox will automatically deselect "Hide Projector when switching to another application" in the Preferences > Projector.
Unchecking the Transparent option will not reset the "Hide Projector when switching to another application" preference.
Font stroke width
Fonts can be shown with an outline, the stroke. Set the stroke width as a percentage of the font point size. 3% is a good value. To remove the stroke, enter 0 into this field.
Projector screen
Select the number of the screen you want to use for the Projector. The Main screen is the one with the Menubar on top.
An asterisk on a port number shows if a screen is attached and recognized by the system. It is possible to select another screen even if it is not attached. This way you can prepare the document the way you want. When reconnecting the proper display, the Projector will use it. Until that time, the main display will be used as a substitution.
The main display has a special feature. It can be used in SplitScreen mode: the document window and the Projector share the same display. You can choose how much percent of the display height will be reserved for the Projector and set it to show at the top or bottom of the display.
Scale
The slide text shown in the Projector can be scaled from 10% to 9999%. This value will be used for all slides. All text in the slides will be uniformly scaled by this value. For example: a slide with a font size 18 mixed with a font size 12. A scale of 200% will show the text in the Projector as size 36 and 24 respectively.
Text block geometry
The slide text is shown inside an invisible box in the Projector. The position and width of this box can be defined in pixels with three number boxes. The height can not be set;it's not important, since it depends on the amount of text in the slide anyway.
Entering a negative number for horizontal or vertical position will subtract the value form the selected displays horizontal or vertical pixel size respectively.
