Generating and Exporting Formatted Reference Lists

To generate a formatted list from your references, all you have to do is click in the 'Generate Reference List' button in the document window toolbar.

This will generate a formatted list of all the references in the currently selected group in the document window. If 'All References' is selected in the groups list, all the references in the document will be included. When generated, the formatted list is presented in a new window.

The reference list in this window is fully editable, including the ability to change fonts, colors indentation, etc. You can make any changes you like here, for example adding a title or header at the beginning of the list. Note though that these edits are not stored back in your Reference Tracker document. If you close this window before exporting your formatted list, you will lose these edits.

If there are any references in your document that you do not wish to have included in a formatted reference list, you can disable them by clicking on the small checkbox for each in the list at the top of the document window.

You can export your formatted list to a file by clicking on the 'Export' icon in the window toolbar or selecting 'Export...' from the 'File' menu. In the 'Save As...' dialog window that appears you can select the file format you want to export to. You can save formatted lists in Microsoft Word (.doc), Rich Text (.rtf) or Web Page (.html) formats. You can additionally export your references without formatting in Plain Text (.txt), BibTex (.bib) or RIS (.ris) formats.
